We have the final list of the participants who completed the Challenge #2 – Amass 7500 money in your treasury while reaching at least 20 regions in less than 50 turns and avoiding to be in the last tier in the progress & decadence chart.
Carthage was not an easy faction to play, with scattered regions to protect and surrounded by powerful neighbours. Players had to carefully plan ahead their moves and outsmart their opponents. It was very interesting to see the different strategies employed and the different pay-offs!
This is the final ranking, kudos to all the participants!

One of the pillars of Empires is how regions, the basic geographical unit are handled. Regions are at the heart of the game and managing them properly will make or undo whole nations.
We have already mentioned that regions have a population, split into different ‘population units’ and the buildings constructed in the region. Today we will speak of buildings, as they are every bit as important as the citizens and slaves of your regions, if not more even!

The Ukrainian conflict of 2014 has undoubtedly contributed to destabilize an already fragile region. All along the borders of Ukraine, Moldova and Russia, tensions are rising frequently, and no one knows exactly what would happen if Moscow, the biggest player, will decide to force the situation escalating the conflict.
Even if an open war could have limited military objectives, a new successful Russian intervention - probably justified by the necessity to help “the oppressed Russian minorities” - might have tremendous political repercussions, especially for Eastern Europe NATO countries.

Everyone knows the importance of the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Some of the bloodiest battles of the whole conflict were fought on the wide oceans and in the deep jungles. After three years and thousands of dead on all sides the Japanese Empire was destroyed and a new balance of power was established.
But this conflict started earlier than the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour. China saw its own borders constantly menaced and, after many “incidents”, on July 7th of 1937 Japan began a large invasion of the Chinese soil. A nominally united China was still fighting its own internal wars and was initially ill-prepared for the onslaught leading to the Japanese forces conquering an impressive amount of land but at the cost of overstretching its lines..

Version 1.07 is ready and along with the usual bug fixes and database additions it introduces elements highly anticipated by the community.
First of all there is the implementation of the Weapon Release Authorization (WRA) feature that allows players and scenario designers to precisely tailor weapon allocation logic at different scales.
And it’s also an opportunity to unveil Mission Editor 2.0, a powerful tool that offers way more customization options for the behavior of units. And on top of that, another improvement is the integration of the Scenario Attachments which allows bundling of all the assets with the scenario file to make the game even more user-friendly.

We are proud to announce that a new patch is available for World in Flames. Version 1.3.3.0. brings many improvements in the global gameplay.
It fixes a problem in Head-to-head games for port attacks that was causing a fatal error during the anti-aircraft subphase, and now units are no longer affected by land combat results. If they are alone in the defending hex after the defender takes losses, then the phasing side can advance into the hex and capture them.
Many other issues have been fixed.
