Ardennes 1944 is a historic scenario at regimental level of Hitler's Last Offensive from 16 Dec 1944 to 15 Jan 1945. The initial version was included with the TOAW III update. This is version 1.2 of previously posted Ardennes 1944. It contains several minor map and OB changes. The major changes were directed at adjusting the play balance of the Allies January counter offensive. In play testing it was found the Allies could easily cross the Our River by the 15 January end date of the scenario. Historically, however, the Allies were still trying to capture Houffalize on that date, some 25 km from the Our River. To balance this, some of the parameters have been adjusted to decrease the effectiveness of Allied attacks later in the game. That brings up an interesting question: given the overwhelming force advantage the Allies had in January, why were the Allies not able to achieve an overwhelming victory by the end date of the game?
