They soon make contact with nearby units of the 17SS PzG, delayed by Allied planes and arriving too late to join the Carentan attack.** Across the line, a company of the 502PIR probing in that direction observed the increased activity. From these reports, HQ decides that a quick push could knock the (so they thought) unprepared enemy back, and orders a battalion of the 327GIR and another from 4AD to attack.** In this version the 17SS PzG have been ordered to bolster the new defensive line by deploying into positions along side the FJ; during this move, the US attack begins.** ___________tracer/JimNSB 7/09
