You can find your serial number by searching the registry on your own computer.

My Windows is Danish so the names I am using may not be entirely correct - but here is what to do in Windows (not in GGWaW)
- Click on START (lower buttom corner)
- Click on RUN
- Type in RegEdit and click OK
- In the menus select Search
- Search for Matrix Games (check all the search options)
- Below Matrix Games you will find Gary Griegby's World at War
- One of the keys for that is "authorized" ---- this will show your serial number
