Status: offline 		if anyone wants to help: I couldn't parse in the weapon range because they are not in the xml files.
they are in the ingame unit info, though, so if anyone could enter them manually ...

The weapon ranges and RoF are in weapontypes.xml

damn.... well, too late. about as much work to parse it now as just typing it per hand. i think I'll just make a seperate page for weapon types.

Status: offline 		Where are the defensive ratings of ships?  Do they use hit points and have armor ratings?  What about shields?

But can you explain how the rates are working.
Lets say you have a defence rating 100 and you want to attack that ship do you need 3-4 hits with a missile when your ship has a 30 rating for missiles for ship to ship and  attack? And with the interval of 15 seconds how will that relate to shield repair for the defense 100 ship rating.In other words how is calculation going on in relation to the statics. All the other numbers are clear to me.

Status: offline 		Defense was never made clear. I don't think there are HPs per se, but shields that get depleted according to some unknown formula. When the shield collapses, the ship is toast.
I guess it's one of those things that's best not to know, as long as it seems to be working reasonably well.
