The best thing to do would be:

1. Re-boot
2. Re-install 1.20 update
3. Re-boot
4. Launch game

You should be able to download the 1.0 install from the members area I think. Did you uininstall 1.0 before putting on 1.20? If so, don't do that next time, simply install over it.

It is only showing the 1.20 patch there not the 1.0 ... is there somewhere else to look by any chance?

I have the same problem.

Run-time error '429'

I did the reboot, reinstall 1.20, reboot, still get the same message

Did you change something on your system?

At one point (exactly) do you get the error?

Yea, I replied via email way back around 4/1.

Anyway, I'm not sure if this is just the first of many, but I can at least tell you that the component failing in this case is zlib.ocx.

Try this. Go to a command prompt and change into your "c:\Matrix Games\PureSim Baseball 2005 Gold Edition"

Run this command from the command prompt: regsvr32 zlib.ocx

The strange thing is, the install does all of this, so I wonder if there is something else conflicting on your system.

Shaun: I had the same problem, and I've had it in the past with PureSim (i've played since 2002 off and on depending on my time constraints). When I ran that command in the puresim directory, it came back with:

LoadLibrary("zlib.ocx") failed - The specified module could not be found.

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling three times, and still the same thing. I don't know if my computer isn't taking that file or what, but is there any solution to this, other than finding it from a friend or another source?

Whoops sorry!

the command should be:

regsvr32 zlibocx.ocx
