The 1.12 update for Flashpoint Germany was sent up the chain to Matrix to have them put the installer together for it. So keep your eyes open for the update to show up soon.

UPDATE: There was a missing file in the package to Matrix. The issue has been resolved and things should be moving forward again.

Thanks.

Well 112 should be seen soon. We had problems with files needed for the installer and Matrix is waiting for a thumbs up from us now on testing the installer (on my list of things for later today). As for improvements, 112 is centered on fixing a couple of glitches with the units SOP. Units had a tendency to ignore both move and fire orders in a majority of cases. This update should fix that problem. There is still a small chance of acting outside of the SOP if a unit is highly stressed or poorly trained. This should allow scout units to be more stealthy and not pop off shots at tanks 2000m away when set to 0 or 500 meters.

Thanks for the question.

How's it going with the 1.12 update?   Just so I haven't missed anything, I checked last night and I'm running 1.10.

Is there a 1.11 I've missed?

thanks
happy holidays

... this is off topic but has there been recent talk of adapting this engine for WWII battles? I think it would work great but there would be lots of homework to do to get all the WWII era equipment/forces/etc into the system.

Hank,

There is a 1.11 update out on the support site. We are still working back and forth with Matrix on issues with the latest installer package (some file issues from our end and we are busy on the next game, etc). Hopefully get that all resolved soon. We are planning down the road to go in the direction of WW2. Right now we are focused on more modern battles but we are looking to get this second gen of the Flashpoint engine working and be able to use it to quickly (in game design terms ) jump into other era's.

We'll keep you posted.

Hello,

Finally 1.12 is here!!!!! I'm downloading it.
Just go to Members, and then to Registered Downloads.
It has 7.4 MB size.

Happy games,

Emilio.

Hi again,

Improvements from 1.12:

• There were some slight changes to the application of unit SOP Doctrine that gives unit behaviour (especially for recon units) a more natural result now.

• A bug in the scenario editor has been squashed.

• Also, a few game messages were tweaked and the game skin art adjusted a little by Capn Darwin.

Emilio,

Thanks for pointing this out to folks. I had to go into work today and haven't had the chance to clue folks in. A little delayed in coming but I hope folks enjoy it. I be interested in hearing feedback on the SOP adjustments.

Jim's entire computer went down, both hard drives. He's been recovering the system bit by bit and as a result hasn't been online to answer questions. I forwarded your query to Rob to see if he can help.

Not to mention looking into the Vista missing DLL issue too. And yes, I'm slowly getting my system back to some sense of order. Still a good 3-5 hours of loading and updating to get back to Flashpoint coding and work. I'll I can say is have good backups.
