I know this has been discussed before, but what do you prefer, 4 or 5 man rotations? There seems to be a lot of pitchers with a ton of innings in the leagues I have played so far. I guess 5 would keep the innings to a realistic amount, and the win totals wouldn't be so high, i.e., 25 and 30 game winners.

I am wanting to start a league in 1971. Would I be smart to begin with 5 man rotations and go to 4 later?

I'm not sure what to advise, sooner7. I looked over the GS stats for 1971, and a few teams stuck with 4-man rotations, while several had as many as 6 or 7 guys who started at least 12 games. So, it was a time of transition.

This is a tough call. You're gonna use the real rosters, right? This is not a draft league?

If it were me, I'd recommend going with the 5 starters, but, your stat results will not see a guy like the Tigers' Mickey Lolich, who started an amazing 45 games that year, 29 of them CG.

I will be drafting. I love that part of the game. Is it possible to start with 5 and move to 4 later in the year? I'm sure my team could do that, but would the AI do it also? Again KG, thanks for the help.

You can switch your team later in the year but the AI won't follow suit.  I'm not sure if you can change your whole league to 4 man rotations after creation.. never tried it.
