hypothetical question if you could buy your own island which one would you want.

I myself would like to either have New Ireland or Truk lagoon checked the satelite photos and truk looks to have a fairly modern airfield on it.

No, the Continent is where the French, Germans, Italians, Spanish and other assorted foreigners live.

And "continent" is the antonym of incontinent. What's the relation of that to Australia?

North Island, New Zealand

If you're talking small islands, Samoa.

Though I read somehwere that Vella Lavella is the only island in the Solomomns that does not suffer from malarial infestation, so that makes it a contender.

An Island - as defined as "a body of land surrounded by water", easy...the Eurasian land mass - think big.

On the other hand, "an island" as defined as something smaller than a continent (or group thereof),
I suppose - Britain. It's still large enough to be a pain in the a$$ to the world for centuries, but doesn't get too hot as a rule...then again, if it's my island - there's going to be some changes made.

It would have to be something not completely tropical with a nice view...perhaps one of the Mariannas, but not Guam.

I hear that the New Hebrides are very nice...no malaria and some islands are decently dry.

However, I think my first choice might be the Maldives, though not represented in WitP

Whereever it is I would of course immediately declare war on Dixieland.
