I just finished a 1900 season using the historical players and teams. Part of the post season was Generating New Players. Will this bring in the real players from 1901 with their photos, or create fictional players instead? And if the latter, will it randomly assign photos from the 2600 faces I have in the Generic faces folder? I hate seeing that silhouette that says No Photo On File.

Yes, this will happen automatically, BUT, there will be a 1901 draft. So some players might not end up on the teams they actually played for.... If you have the player affinity option selected, then the odds are greater that they will land on the team they really played for.

I think it was generating new fictional "scrubs" to fill out the minors, and from looking at my historical sim, the fake players do not have a picture. It could be something I did when setting it up though. I dont know, but it seems like they do not.

Also note that pictures will only be assigned to those that the game will find matches for, even if they were real and ACTUAL players. From what I've seen, pictures for that early a year are scarce and limited.

Actually, the mega face pack from PadresFan's site seems to have a lot of the early players. However, there still seem to be some fictional players being generated somehow. From my understanding, it's supposed to use Generic for no-match situations, but none of these guys are getting faces.

In addition, I was thinking of creating a fictional association. Wil all of the faces be blank if I do that? I have 2600 images in the Generic folder.

I believe they will be blank until you go into the options and click the "Assign photos to fictional players" button...

I don't see such an option. There is the Auto-Assign Photos option, but if I run that I believe it will remove all of the photos I've manually assigned. I want the game to assign fictitious photos from my Generic folder each time it creates new players. Otherwise, each new season you're going to have newly generated players without images. There has to be some way to keep it current.
