Status: offline 		okay I have updated to 1.71b correctly,I'm sure of it,and I have even tried restarting my computer,and no I am not running Vista,I am using Windows XP yet I still am getting this error.

Status: offline 		Have you tried an uninstall/reboot/reinstall cycle?

At what exact point does it crash?

Status: offline 		it does so right on the start up menu after I click play.
