I almost forgot to ask! It looks like Creta doesn't have a supply point for the allies. I invaded the island before moving onto Greece in v3.1 so I wouldn't have to worry about these units showing up behind my lines. I don't know if this was fixed in V3.2 but just wanted to let you know. Also, one of the german units (can't remember which one right now as I deleted the save) regroups and shows up at the bottom most part of Greece nowhere near any city. I'll keep an eye out for anything else! Great job btw. Cheers!

Edit: an A-1 Skyraider for the USAF is showing up on a BR naval unit in hex 43,57 on turn 3.

Am reviewing supply points and will add Crete

the PO doesnt' recognize nationality of carriers , that's just something which happens

I'll check if there's still a German unit left on free reconstitution

Umm... Not sure, but I'm playing as the Allies right now if that's what you mean. Cheers!

Have to rephrase that... the game engine doesn't see a difference between a British and US carrier... Carriers are valid airfields for air units containing eiligible aircraft, so if all carriers are fully stacked it'll find one where there's room for the entering air unit
I've seen it happen in other scenarios

Glad to see you are out of garrison mode. Hopefully Ike didn't put you into reorganisation or force you to reconstitute in Mexico!

Ok, I'm on the same page now. A-1 Skyraiders should be USN or USMC right? Cheers.

We've been extremely lucky in our area. We moved to my father-in-law four a couple of hours when things started to look rough but it didn't take long before the warnings got lifted.

The allocation of carrier aircraft on carriers from another (friendly) country is part of the more abstract naval thing in TOAW

I wasn't sure if the unit was supposed to show up there or not. Just wanted to let you know. As for the A-1 I didn't even know it was carrier capable until I spotted the unit with the BR carrier. I always thought they were USAF planes. Glad to hear you escaped Ike. Messy stuff that one. Cheers!

They don't have to be aircraft carriers from friendly countries. One of the more memorable moments in my last Seelowe match with Ben was his outraged howl when one of my (German) fighter units magically relocated onto one of his vacant (British) aircraft carriers.

...not a big deal. The carrier steams away, the air unit stays, and in my turn, I fly it from the now-vacant sea hex to some more suitable location. Looks weird, though.

Sil another Axis unit is showing up in Berlin and it shouldn't. I can't recall the name, but I'll post it when I can. It's one of the Axis German irregular unit that shows up behind the Russian lines. It's a SS something, let me go look and I'll get back to you tomorrow. Cheers!

Question to my fellow players of Europa out there (well, I'm still on my "initial deployment" and preparing my initial invasions : turn 1 still, for the Allies, guess what is the question coming up...) :
How long does it take you on average to play a full turn of this monster ?
How long was your first turn ? And then did you just do "partial" turns therefore, by not bothering to manipulate "inactive fronts" ?
Maybe it's just the initial shock at the magnitude of the scenario, but I'm finding myself taking a very long time to not only grasp the sheer size, but also preparing attacks : I started thinking I'd resolve all my 10% attacks first, then move some more, then have a second batch of battles...
Then, it was 20 and then 30%....
Now, I've decided that I'm going to set up most if not all my turn 1 battles, move everyone or just about and then resolve the battles, not caring if the turns end....
Hehe, this is a monster, and on a huge map too
Cheers !

yes please check it out, I've got v3.3beta on my laptop and all these little details will get attention
thanks for sharing your observations, with so many units a scatterbrain like me is prone to overlook something :-)

30 to 45 minutes, depending which side.. as the Allies it can be time consuming
Elmer can take up to 20 minutes to complete his turn on my pc

To quote the original designer Piero in the notes of one of his monster scenarios: Stock Up Your Fridge ;-)

... there's also 1 SS StuGrp in the same formation... OK they're now in line with the general rule of thumb that G's will not reconstitute

yes both showed up behind lines and I blasted the 2nd while I was still looking for the other the 2nd showed up in Berlin. On a side note, if you release an update I will probably start over so I can see how landings in Creta and Greece go. I am working on Turkey right now. so I might finish that one up. Spain is almost ready to surrender, but I've noticed those units showing up where they belong. Another idea I was thinking of trying was a test landing in Romania to see how those units react to being destroyed. That's all for now! Cheers!

I just wanted to add something I was thinking about while playing with the scenario. In hexes 169,53 through 63 I noticed that all Russian units can move into them without the aid of engineers. I was thinking (and help me out here with your thoughts) that units should need some kind of engineer support. What do you think? Cheers!

One of the things left unchanged in this scenario has to do with that.
There are formations with and without separate engineers.. The Red Army is not uniformly organized in this scenario
Note that many Soviet units have engineer or ferry teams integrated...

Hmmm... I forgot to look at that. I only noticed that on the southern most front, you can't cross the river without either an HQ or engineer unit. My bad, I should have looked. While were on the subject of HQ's I have no problem with them having engineer's/RR repair included for the allies. I think this has been talked about before but not sure. I've noticed that in Iraq/Iran I'm sorely missing them for rebuilding the Railroad. I've had to ship an American division to Iraq that has two of them (I forget which Div. now) just to take care of the railroad problem. Cheers

Includes fixes of some items mentioned in previous posts. Thanks Cesteman

Looking through it and I'm puzzling my head at some of the organizations of the Allied Units.

While the ground units look pretty good to me, the air units are a bit out of whack.

For example, the USAF 92nd Bomb Wing has 400 B-25s.

Going by USAAF TOEs, which I've found in period publications, the 92nd BW should have 288 B-25s; and the 45th BW should have 135 B-29s, not 400.

Also, FH-1 Phantoms in USAF Fighter Wings? By this point, the F-80 Shooting Star should be in mass production, as well as some early F-84 Thunderjets for ground attack duties.

-------------------------------------------------
USAAF WWII Tables of Organizations

Air Division: 3 to 5 Combat Wings
Combat Wing: 3 Groups (Note, B-36 Wings had two groups) - Basic Tactical Unit
Group: Four Squadrons - Basic Operational Unit, usually based at one airfield.

UH Bomb Group: 3 Squadrons, 30 B-36s (Late 1948)
UH Bomb Group: 3 Squadrons, 18 B-36s (original plan)
VH Bomb Group: 3 Squadrons, 45 B-29s
Heavy Bomb Group: 4 Squadrons, 72 B-17/24
Medium Bomb Group: 4 Squadrons 96 B-25/26
Light Bomb Group: 4 Squadrons: 96 A-20/26
Fighter Group: 3 Squadrons, 108 to 126 P-38/40/47/51
Troop Carrier Group: 4 Squadrons: 80-110 C-47s
Combat Cargo Group: 4 Squadrons 125 C-46/47s

--Note: Specialist units below Group level---
Night Fighter Squadron: 18 Aircraft (P-61/70)
Tac Recon Squadron: 27 Aircraft (Various)
Photo Recon Squadron: 24 Aircraft (F-5, etc)
Combat Mapping Squadron: 18 Aircraft (F-7/9)
