Hither and anon?

Seriously, I'd rather have it done and done right then the typical and reprehensible practice of many game publishers of shoving any unfinished pos with glitzy cover art and a handful of lies on the back of the box out the door with the intension of picking the pocket of the gameing community.
I must admit that I have suffered from this policy of consumer theft so often, that I (much to my present regret and shame) accused this company and these designers of the same thing when this games precurssor came out (Erik, Doomtrader, Anraz, I dont think that I ever publicly apologised to ya'll for that. You have proved me wrong, and wrong, and wrong again. I am sorry.)
As a beta tester for this game, and as a grognard of thirty five years experience, I can tell you that as much as the designers want to get you this game, and as much as we want to play it, they're going to be sure that it will do what it is designed to do, and it will do it right the first time if they have to hairlip the UN to do it (as we say here in Texas!)
So take a deep breath and stay icy -- there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Psst... Mike, be careful about saying to much, particularly if you are under NDA (just some friendly advice).

I'm actually REALLY tempted to go ahead and pick up the old version, given the option to upgrade for FREE (!?!?!, I'm still reeling from Matrix's generosity) when the new one comes along. The old version looks quite good and engaging, and it would give me a taste of what to expect in the future.

But I still am leery... seriously... If I buy the first game, even now... I can get ToW for freeeeee?

Awwww.... no mention of that on the press release here at Matrix! I would love to get that cleared up, as it makes a huge difference (and since they are still selling RtV here, I would hardly say it is "no longer supported.")

Any official word?

Oddly enough, this was never really answered.

However, Gamersgate is listing WWII: ToW as "coming soon" on July 16!? Does that mean we might see this tomorrow?

Yes, WW2: TOW has gone gold and will be released this week, probably tomorrow.

Then it is also exactly 40 years since I played my first game of chess; an even greater date in history.

I saw that same ad last night. I couldn't find the download then but its there now!

Maybe the ad traveled through time?

Thank You Matrix and all the devs and beta testers!

And my wife thanks you for ruining her weekend!

Oddly enough, it is cheaper from GG - that doesn't seem like a very solid marketing plan for Matrix Games.

That's very odd, should be the same price. I'll find out if that's our issue or theirs.

Yes, it was in the private downloads area of the members area.

Ok, the pricing difference was our mistake. We just bumped our price down to $34.99 Download / $44.99 Physical, same as on GG. If you ordered at the original $39.99/$49.99 price here and would like your five bucks back, please e-mail me at erikr@matrixgames.com with your order info. Sorry for that!

I keep on getting physical shipment add on to my digital download order. I don't want to pay the extra 10 for shipping and handling and I can not take it off. I just want to download it.

Erik, I just paid $29.99 for the digital download from GG.

DR appears to have introduced some kind of glitch to the download and digital+physical setup which is having the download actually add the digital+physical and the digital+physical adds the download (at the physical price).

My apologies for this, we are working with them to get this fixed immediately.

Berkut, we're looking into this pricing issue as well. As far as I know $34.99 is the correct download price, if I'm wrong and it's $29.99 then we'll match that. I'm sorry you couldn't wait until we sorted this out as we are the ones working with the developer and supporting previous customers, GG is just another distribution channel for this release.

Regards,

- Erik

Ok, that strange issue with the download/physical shipping and pricing has been fixed. If you clear out everything in your cart and try again, it should work fine now. We are still waiting for an answer on the pricing question.

Actually, I've never ordered from them before - I did so simply because they had it available, and you did not, and I am leaving for NYC today for the weekend, and wanted to make sure I got it before I left! Otherwise I would be stuck and forced to play some other games all weekend while my wife blows massive cash shopping or whatever.

Turns out we are not leaving when I thought we were, so it didn't matter after all. And now I feel bad for buying from someone else. :(

It's ok, I understand how it works, I'm just annoyed that there appears to be a pricing difference when there should be none. Either we screwed up or they screwed up and I'm not sure yet which it is, but either way it will be fixed.

You know... I normally would buy something at a lower price to save $5, but in this case, the extra $5 is a justified expense to support Matrix and the developers here.
