You can learn the exact dates of ships movements from port to destination with these records..

Apparently this has a greater coverage for civilian ships and convoys than warships.

Yes, very sparse for the military. I served on the Oak Hill, LSD 7, in the late 60's and I know she was in the pacific from 1943 to the end of the war and no mention in the data base.

I suspect they would not keep track of warship movement, during wartime.
