It sounds like almost everyone is playing 17, but as which side?
Seems to me that the Japanese are more challenging.
No matter how hard you hit the allied fleet it is rare to see
a CV sink.

A question for purists:

Assuming that Kako Kinugasa Furaturka and the Aoba
are used in a battle:

Now These ships to be fair are far from the best the Japs have,
however they are almost ALL you have on 5/1/42.

So you sail away to fight the TF203.

Assume for the moment that NONE are sunk,
However three are pounded beyond 30% by the inevitable
cheap shot carrier ripostes.

Assuming you get them back to Truk:

Do you send all FOUR back, or just the three damaged ones and keep the spare?

I am just curious as to various philosophy.

I dont know about that. I finished playing 16 and am now playing 17 as the japanese. As of 6/30/42 the Yorktown,Enterprise,Hornet,Lexington are all at the bottom of the sea for the cost of 2 CLs and a bomb hit on one of my CVLs and I'm pretty much sitting around base building so I can defend Port Morsby,Gili, and Lunga.

I'd just send the three as you never know when justg one ship might make the difference.
