Hi,

I´m having problems with the mouse wheel. In Windows and the usual applications (Internet Explorer, Office etc) the mouse wheel works, but with most of my games it does not.

Some background: I recently got a laptop to replace a desktop computer that was in its last legs. Since I cannot adjust to using a freaking touchpad, I also got a laser mouse. None of the games I now have problems with ever showed similar problems with the old computer.

Do any of you have any idea what may cause this - and more importantly, how to fix it?

I am fairly sure it is not because the old computer ran XP while the new one runs Vista. Vista itself and quite a few games have no trouble with the mouse wheel. I am also sure that this particular mouse is not the source of the problem - I tried someone else´s mouse, with the same results.

Among of the few games in which the mouse wheel works are Armada 2526 and Mount&Blade. Among those where it doesn´t are Sword of the Stars, UFO: Aftershock and Galactic Civilizations II.
