Reckon that could be British or Australian troops pulling an artillery piece, perhaps a 2 pounder AT gun. Maybe the retreat towards Singapore from Malaya in Jan/Feb '42 ?

Aussies didn't wear the WWI hat did they? The pic sprior posted looks like Aussies. Brady's are almost certainly Brits in Malaya or Burma. Recently arrived, too, if the whiteness of their skin is to be believed.
