I can't download the patches, because when I do I get this error

Errors:

File 1: An error occurred when downloading information from the server.

What can I do about it?

Assuming that you just bought the game since you just joined the forum, start the game and get into any battle. Press the M key to turn on the menu at the top of the window. Click the help and then from the dropdown click about. If it says version 1.04 you have the latest version and no update is needed.
