I haven't played anyone into the winters of 42-43. I am guessing there are no winter effects at all after Janruary 1943. If there are thats 100% not historical at all seeing Field Marshal Erich von Manstein took the opportunity to launch his Kharkov counterstrike, using the fresh SS Panzer Corps and two panzer armies, which between 19 February and 15 March 1943. Known to the Germans as the Donets Campaign, and to the Soviets as the Donbas and Kharkov operations, the German counterstrike led to the destruction of approximately 52 Soviet divisions and the recapture of the cities of Kharkov and Belgorod.

The Germans were not surpised, I thk they figured out it was coming after the 41-42 winter. the German army was prepared for winter operations from 1942 to the end of the war.
