Hi, I'm new with Crown of Glory and we tried to start a PBEM-Game and had the problem, that the second player would be announced to give a legal password to start his gameturn. We had started the countries of Sweden, Turkey and Spain. We just take these "small" Countries to become familiar with the system. Has anyone a tip to get the password ?

There shouldn't be a password at the start unless someone set one.  Would you mind zipping and posting the save files and I'll take a look at them.

Hi,

I'm Scipio7's PBEM partner and here is the zipped save file.

What have I done:

Started the game.
Selected PBEM game.
Selected "human" for Sweden, Turkey and Spain; nothing else changed
Done my turn as Sweden.
Ended my turn, named the game "First_Try" and closed game.
Then I zipped the two files and send them to Scipio7.

I tried it myself and I can't open the savegame either; the game ask's me
for the password, too.

Btw, game version is 1.2.25

I searched the manual, but there is only one remark, that one can set
a password, but not where to do it.

Thx for any help!

Regards

I just read the question concerning Vista 64 and therefore:

Vista 64 Home Premium here, too.

Is that the reason?

Does it ask you for the PBEM game name at the start of the game?  I believe it should ask for this information before your turn.  Where are you entering the game name at the end of your turn?

I don't know if COG has ever been tested on Vista 64 -- so that might possibly be a problem.

Sorry, got that wrong. The game asks for the name of the PBEM game before I do the first turn.

Our PBEM-Problem is definitly no Windows Vista Problem. I started a game on my PC, which has installed Windows XP with Service Pack 3 - and the same error occurs. By the way: if starting Sweden and only save the turn to make it to the end later, I will be asked to give a valid password for Sweden.

Any Ideas ?
