Not sure whether the exploration ships are supposed to all head for the same place but thought it was strange as there were other suitable targets nearby. Ive only shown the details for one of the three ships but I checked, all three are exploration ships and are going to the same unknown gas cloud with the mission explore.

This issue goes way back.The A.I does not stop duplicate exploration.

They gett eh orders to go to the next nearest star, which cuases them to bunch if if they are all close to the same star. That is why I done use auto explorer beyond giving each one a explore sector command.
