On my second try, I won Mission one (1736 - 1368). I know, an AAR on Mission 1 may seem presumptious, but I am interested in PBEM, and would like to know if the results from this attempt are typical for grasping the concept of the mechanics (is #1 *designed* to be beaten this easily?); and if there are any other scenarios I should try before offering myself up for slaughter *s* ... also, I have noticed in other threads that some of you are able to copy in game screens to the posts...any advice on how to do that? Until then it's pencil, eraser, and paper. Anyway, here are the results (I didn't replay any turns):
