1220 points hellcatski vs sandman (russ v fin) meeting engagement... no mines (bought at least), 1 air section (if available - mine wasn't), 10% arty, long turn limit, medium map... here it comes...

Time is November of 1939 and 1000 points isn't really much :)

I have my troops in order and they are itching to fight!

the map is a typical meeting engagement one with vhs in centre and one each on our respective sides... the landscape is gentle hills and medium thick woodlands. There are two main roads running horizontal across the map and the russian recon force travelling along the southern one have sighted, opened fire on and caused casualties among the Fin jagers and cavalry which appear to be advancing cautiously out of a small town tucked inside a hill...

elsewhere our recon has failed to flush out any other enemy...

Some minor Mortar barrages at the end of turn.

I think this will be a hard fight, since we get more contacts.
There are no "useless" troops in battle, where is only 1000 points per side.
We both must be very careful.;)

Back to you Hellcat.

I didn't mention it last round because we couldn't be sure but yes... the Fins are riding bicycles! Our border attack must have caught them by surprise as the contacts reported earlier must be on leave and enjoying a ride through the countryside and a picnicski perhaps...

despite some action in the south western quadrant we have absolutely no idea where the remainder of the Finnish forceski is...

the search continues...

I hate those Quad AAMG -trucks:mad: They can kill a lot of people by a single shot.
I must avoid to contact with them...but somehow I still need to kill them:mad:
Only one Russian scout killed at this turn.

this turn we turned quite a few victory hexes...

contact has been made in the North at last... jagers as well as regular infantry have been located and engaged...

in the south we are still engaging enemy infantry and cavalry units on the hill approaches to the town. The enemy have also been spotted in the town itself where we managed to engage them at long range...

we have quite a bicycle collection now :D

This is a little bit insane with this visible of 45.We can see two hexes forward even in the forest:confused: .
It's major advantage for vehicles...
Anyway, one Russian HorseMG destroyed in northern flank and spotted some Tanks and trucks here and there.

In north there's much I can do with that T-28 tank on road, somehow I must get close to it and it's difficult with that visibility.
We lose couple of own horses, but so do the enemy.:)
Also one more Quad AAMG truck was killed.

I'll soon be in troubles in the south where Russian hordes are pushing forward with couple of tanks:(

Maybe I should take a phonecall to the neighbor battallion...;)

Sounds like, for a 1000 points apiece, you've got a great little game going here. :D

the resilience and fighting spirit of these Fins must truly be admired... They've even turned a VH in the North! Hopefully we will crush them soon... and then! Bicycle sale! One previous owner... :p

Capt. Pixel! Yes for a 1000 points it's quite a struggle indeed!!
