Russia vs. Georgia Overlay for the scenario in the link below, it is recommended its use for more player inmersion. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gn60tmvyd9ohv2x/Hunting%20Day.zip Date/Time: 10th August, 2008 / 00:00:00 Zulu Location: South Ossetia Playable Sides: Russia During the first days of August war between Georgia and Russia, a Georgian mechanized column tries to make its way across South Ossetia to reach its destination at Tshikinvali, and there add its strength to the local forces and finally occupy the town. Its arrival to the city would change the balance of forces and could mean a serious setback for the Russian plans. To 386 Regiment Cmdr: HUMINT sources indicate than a mechanized column is ready to move from Variani, in the outskirts of Gori, towards Tshinvali. Unfortunatly no ground forces are in position to stop them before they could reach Tshinvaly, so it´s up to the aviation to stop them. Your mission is to avoid at all cost the transit or the Georgian column to its destination. If Tshinkinvali is liberated, the counter-offensive will be a reality. Air superiority is total at this moment, although we have suffered some unexpected losses due to anti-air fire, from manpads and other AA means. To avoid further losses we will be able to use SEAD assets from the 559th Regiment with bombers Su-24M. This unit should try to suppress Georgian early warning radars and anti-air batteries to clean the way to your Su-25s. Also you will have available a few ELINT and Recce assets, consider them as High Value Assets and don´t risk them unnecessarily!. You are cleared to engage any radar, military or civilian, that can jeopardise your mission. Be aware that the Georgians know that we have the control of the air... so they should be expecting us and they will defend the column with the best means they have: concealment and a continuous SAM and AAA coverage. Find the column and stop it for once, avoid excessive own losses and be aware of civilian casualties!... we know that several western reporters are in the area and we don´t need more Western support to the Georgians... To help you localizing the column a Spetsnaz Reccon Team has been assigned to the operation and is under your command. You will have under your command a Mi-24 battalion stationed at Urgandanta... Used the wisely and don´t lose many of them or the Army won´t be happy with you! Also be aware that several, so far unconfirmed, reports of modern Western SAM system in the hands of the Georgian are being evaluated right now... Good Hunting and good luck!
