440, Raven 21 is down, Game mode.
Went into Unit View, gave USS Barry a manual attack order.
Barry opened fire on an ambiguous target, i think the ambiguity was caused by ESM gear of another ship.
However when the contact position began to change the shells changed course, they always were on a straight line away from USS Barry, but moved forward, backward, left and right.

Once i turned all the fleets radars on the ambiguity vanished and the shells finally changed course towards the real target...

Works As Designed. This is part of the principle: "Once unguided ammo is in the air, no micromanagement should allow you to cleanly dodge it."

As an aside, we first saw this being implemented in "Mech Commander 2", for the very same reason. We recognized its significance and adopted it .

Wait. What?

The OP is not describing the target "dodging" the shells. He's describing the firing solution being refined by the firing units after the shells have been fired.

Sorry, I should have explained this a bit clearer. See a related thread here: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3437065

Firing a gun on an ambigous contact should not be allowed, I'll have to check if there is a bug in the gunnery chain.
