Hello,

I like the new autosave function, where it has incremental saves going back 100 seconds in 20 second intervals, but I was surprised to find that it keeps autosaving even when the game is paused. This means that if you stop the game to look at something strange, and don't instantly save those files, you will have lost all the incremental information that the new system is designed to help you keep for troubleshooting purposes.

Would it be possible to consider pausing the autosave when the game is paused?

That's an interesting conundrum.

The current implementation was a deliberate design choice in order to protect scenario authors. The idea being that, when scen-editing, you almost always work in a "paused" state; therefore, the autosave mechanism had to keep saving regardless of the sim clock in order to allow you to recover from a bad edit.

On the other hand, you're not wrong.

So a bit of a bind.

maybe have different autosave function in editior mode and play mode? or give us a game option checkbox?

Can't wonders be done with a humble boolean?

if (game_running OR scenario_edit) { autosave = true }
else ( autosave = false }

Who flamed you??? I will flame them... or perhaps challenge them to a duel using joint command?

But seriously... This seems like an easy fix to meet both players needs... the only other options that make sense is leaving it up to the user in the game options?
