It's March 1942 and all I'm seeing are the odd B-24 roll off the production lines, and almost no fighters; my VF's tangled with IJN carrier groups early in the war and I need to make good some losses.

Is there something I should know? I mean, I know that the PTO gets the hind teat, but when can I expect some loving attention from Rosie the RIveter?

Have a look at the airframe replacements window. It does take a while for the Allies to ramp up.

Things really start to get going with the Hellcat in early 43. Even then though, against a Japanese side that is able to produce and use all of the best airframes available without political divisions between the Army and IJN, and you still have to manage your airframe use carefully.

Thanks for that. Fortunately I see a heap of USMC squadrons are entering the fray soon.

EDIT...no cause for excitement. I see I don't get any B-17s for at least a month and all the leathernecks are training squadrons....which I already have set up....
