Supplement to the above story:

An underground resistance movement quickly formed and discussed ways to fight back against the mocking photo of an ostrich with its head in the sand. After a brief debate thousands of brave French Resistance fighters swarmed the beaches at Nice and Cannes and buried their butts in the sand in an "anti-head-in-the-sand" protest.

The French government, in typical Gallic one-upmanship, has announced a film will be made documenting this historic event.

No official word yet on who will play the lead role in the film, but unnamed sources have told this reporter that negotiations are currently being held with one Wyle E. Coyote of Burbank, CA.
