Hi all, I'm in the process of creating a mod based on The Expanse series of sci-fi novels by James SA Corey, and I've encountered an error while modding the colonization tech.

On trying to switch to the mod in game I was shown an error message that read something along the lines of 'error encountered at line 957 of research.txt cannot read component id'. Line 957 was as follows:

COMPONENT IMPROVEMENTS ;102, 1, 30000, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0

The whole project looks liks this:

PROJECT ;220, Improved Colonization, 1, 8, 2, 8, 0, 2.0,
COMPONENT IMPROVEMENTS ;102, 1, 30000, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0
PARENTS ;219, N

So far as I can see there's problems with this project at all. I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar problem when modding the colonization tech projects. Perhaps the colonization module components are somehow hard-coded to not be 'improved'?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you haven't heard of The Expanse series, I highly recommend checking it out http://www.goodreads.com/series/56399-expanse

But I do see a potential problem

This seems very likely that you cant go below 7 digits in this one...original tech is 30000000(8 digit) which lead to 30M in game. So at 3000000 would be 3M but 300000 is impossible...you have 30000 which is even more impossible. I'm pretty sure you must stay within the ''M'' , this is how its been coded originaly and it wont tranfer to ''K'' because you want to :P

So you probably cant go below 1M which is 1000000

I dont really feel like to test it for you, but thats my take on it.

GL!

You are missing a comma at the end of this line and should be

COMPONENT IMPROVEMENTS ;102, 1, 30000, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0,

@joproulx99 hopefully that's not the case! I was looking to more accurately reflect the pace of colonization in The Expanse, at least in the early stages of the game.

@fierceking let's hope that was the issue!
