This is kind of subjective, but I wanted to try to find out what people here consider as their favorite WWII battle in the Pacific -- the one they like to read about, the one they wish they could see happen, or experience, the one they play numerous times in other games, the one they think had a importance that may not have been realized at the time.

The Battle of the Eastern Solomons was one of the great
carrier engagement of the Pacific War. That's really my favorit, although I voted for Coral Sea since it wasn't up there.

I'm not voting as my favorite isn't there... The battle of the Eastern Solomons was always my favorite to play in Flattop, as is involved fairly equivalent forces (Coral Sea would have if it weren't for those worthless Devastators!).

I don't even consider the Doolittle Raid as a battle. It was merely a sideshow performed to raise US morale.

Hey! I know that you couldn't put every battle in the poll, but to leave out the Kokoda Track is outrageous! ;)

How can it be said that Coral Sea was the first battle where the ships didn't see each other?

I vote for Pearl Harbor. Tora, Tora, Tora was a great movie. :D (Can't believe that Pearl Harbor, which was made 30 years later, had worse looking effects! :eek: Not to mention a ridiculous story line.)

It's what I like to refer to as "war for girls". :D

Incidentally, I voted for Guadalcanal I, as it's probably the most unique naval engagement in history, and historians are [I]still[/I] trying to piece it together.
