I'm interested in starting a second PBEM as either side in a grand campaign. Stock or a babes mod is fine. Any HR's, settings and preferences are up for discussion.

I'd prefer a forum regular if possible. I'm usually good for at least one turn a day.

I have the pleasure of having an ongoing PBEM with SqzMyLemon and can attest to his qualities as an opponent and as a person. You would be hard-pressed to find a better partner with whom to play. He is very strongly recommended.

Chickenboy,

That is high praise, and I for one am glad to hear it. Canadians have a habit of just drinking all your beer and leaving the women pregnant.

SqzMyLemon seems to be cut from different cloth.

Don't forget falling down the stairs (@1:45). Apparently this is the latest craze amongst the Canadian political class.

What makes me think responding would be a bad idea on my part.

I know my rugby years in my early 20's couldn't possible resemble the above, or could they...it's hard to remember. So many beers.

I should add an opponent has been found. We're in the process of hammering out which scenario and preferences to play.

Will you be providing an AAR for prying eyes?

Most likely. I figure I might as well show you how to run Japan properly.

I thought I'd post that it's been decided to play DBB-B with extended map and stacking limits. Something new for both of us. The question remains whether to play the Scenario 1 or 2 equivalent.

I'm having trouble deciding. As much as I'd like to try the extra goodies of a Scenario 2 OOB, I'm most comfortable with Scenario 1. I'll decide in a day or two.

We are playing PDU on though. I'm not opposed to playing PDU off, but felt I'd like some flexibility to offset a Scenario 1 OOB with increased garrison requirements. If I choose Scenario 2, I will offer to play PDU off.

Thanks for the kind words from a few of you. I've had my game related meltdowns in the past, but turned the corner by learning to relax and just enjoy the game. Although the idea of playing Japan again still stresses me out somewhat.

Scenario 2 goodies and accelerated fast start are certainly a bonus if you're striving for auto-victory (or a reasonable chance at one against an experienced player). But the monthly HI cost for pilots is an ongoing drag like no other.

Since you're going with a mod that reduces cargo capacity significantly, HI generated will be that much more precious for you. You'd really be squeezing yourself with the cargo restrictions AND monthly HI drain. Long after the banzai fiesta is over, you'll be paying the pilot tax. It's probably not worth it, IMO.

Does DBB-B reduce cargo capacity? I had the impression it only happened in scenario C.

That would be right - I'm playing DBB-B as Japan and haven't suffered any cargo restrictions.

This was my understanding as well. Just 'C' is for the hard core cargo reductions.

Does anyone know if Symon's aircraft tweaks apply to all the DaBabes scenario's? I'm under the impression they are.

Yes they do. I'm in favor of not playing with any altitude restrictions due to the fact that with Symon's tweaks in DBB, each new generation of fighters will see a steady increase in max ceiling. Thus, no need to keep altitude restrictions.

While we're on the options, does anyone have some feedback on Symon's Gnarly road map? Both Joseph and I enjoy the Chinese theater, so this looks like a promising addition, but I'd be wary of using something which has never been tested (all the more as JWE is not around anymore).

Thanks in advance,
Francois

It is used with John 3rd mods (RA, BTS). We haven't seen a big difference, but it did eliminate many roads and thus slowed down movement to some degree along Burma and India border along with clear terrain in China. I would recommended it.
