I tried succeeding on scen 10 "Eye for Eye" in the Northern Inferno Campaign several times, but could not get a score in the scenario which calls for nuking two Soviet bases.
My a/c all got shot down before reaching either base.

So I cheated and added a Resolution Polaris A3 armed sub by the editor. After my a/c failed again, I launched an A# at each base. At least one 200KT warhead airburst over each base.
However, neither base was destroyed. So I launched 7 A3's at each base. Multiple 200KT warheads airburst over both bases, but neither was destroyed.
What gives? How do the nukes work in Command. I saw lots of EMP symbols and mushroom symbols, but no base being destroyed. Can't nuclear airburst destroy airbases?

I do not own NI.
Perhaps you have Ofeensive ECM- Planes for backup?

Never mine. I forgot that in the new releases airbases and runway facilities cannot be totally destroyed. I added a trigger for 95% damage to the target bases and that worked.

Slightly longer version: A nuclear airburst will handily wipe out soft structures and aircraft in open air facilities (runways, taxiways, revetments etc.) but hard structures (e.g. shelters), underground structures and the aircraft hosted in them will not be affected.

To really wipe out runways you need a surface burst right on top of them, so that they are engulfed in the fireball. So you need to target specifically the runway (not just any building) and use a heavy, accurate warhead (e.g. a strategic bomb in laydown delivery, or a very accurate RV like the W88) so that the miss distance will be close enough to achieve that.
