I have everything on manual and the sombiatch still does not stay at the plantet capital I send him to. He always goes back to the one he came from. That's 3 light years away. This is getting frustrating now. First the AI sucks and then my own ambassador won't do what I tell him to do.

Is he getting AI thrown off the planet and it doesn't tell me? I send him to one of the planets of the other race's capital and he still ends up back where I started from. HELP!!!

Sounds like the AI has control of your characters, you'll need to swap to manual control of characters to get them to stay put.

How do I do that? I have everything set on manual. Is there a checkbox I'm missing somewhere besides the policy screen?

OK, go into your main options page (from the main menu) and simply uncheck the Character Locations checkbox at the bottom. I've circled it in yellow in the following screen shot.

With this unchecked, you will have to manually set the location of each and every character you have. Admirals and captains included as most will appear at your home planet.

Yeah, I found it kinda right after I posted and you answered. That's really the last place I would look and literally in this case was.

It should have been in the POLICY screen as a checkbox not hidden away in the options page.
