After taking a beating by Doom and Bel and the challange by AD I feel I must...I do feel sick already...:( but I have a challange is a challange...

oh well...OFF TO THE VOLGA!!!!!!

( This is verision 2 for H2H, the Russians have new toys that I dont know about, and the Germans have alot less Air Power. My friend Don edited this for us)

here is the scen...I have not looked at it yet my-self so I thought I would post it here for the Grad fans!

Status: offline 		Colonel Deemon rubs his hands to ward of the chill and Opens a dispatch from stavka. Hmm It seems Comrade Stalin himself has ordered me to Stalingrad in order to rectify the situation there.

Apparently one Hauptman Jessen ( so i stink at Germanising Names) has been pushing our brave defenders closer and closer to the Volga. I guess we will have to show this over-arrogant Hauptman just whose city it is that bears Stali's Name

Status: offline 		THis turn was amazingly successfull for the glorious red army. We got to type in our Password of the proletariat! We then proceded to zip the file, load it on a LaG and drop it on the Germans in Lue of bombs.

Yes Sir the attack has started. We made little contact but a few minefields and MG bunkers. The troops are in good formation and gained ground but did not make the city. Sir! we hear rumors of an entire Russian army crossing the Volga!? Yes sir, I will mind my own orders and attack stright away.

Status: offline 		The quite tranquility of a sleepy foggy morning by the Volga is interupted by a barrage of Nazi artillery. Glass is blown out of windows and granny Katya's cat was killed by a 150mm round.

Russian troops regroup in more advantegeous positions cursing their lack of armour, at guns, aa guns and well.... everything.

Barges start making slow progress at feryrying troops across.

Contact!!

Mininia South: A Bunker is Flamb'd as more Katz enter the southern suburb.
~
Mininia North: No contact.
~
Stalingrad City South: No contact
~
Stalingrad City North: Contact! A Heavy Bunker takes on my Kat Infantry! Three Mk IVf2's return fire..no effect! Smoked is poped!
~
Tatstiskaya Airbase: No contact.
~
Mamayez Kurgan: No contact.
~
Krasny Okatyabr: Contact, but only a lone Russian Inf Sq. (I chased him away)
~
Red Barrikady: Contact, Bunkers and Russian Inf. are fired upon. No kills.
~
Dzerhezinsky Tractor Factory: Mine-feilds take out 2 Katz and some infantry. I close on the workers housing.
~
After taking hits and kills from the Red-Army Artillery the order goes out. "To all Panzer Artillery of the 6th Armie. "Flatten Stalingrad" !

Status: offline 		Some innefectual artillery barrages from both sides occur. Rifle bunkers make a kublewagon resemble a grill. Russian troops continuet o consolidate, cursing the designer of the stalingrad defences for a nazi sabotuer

Status: offline 		I kill a flame tank and a marder II. Your airforce kills two loaded barges and a Mortar/AAA position scratch 3 mortars two AAA guns and an ammo dump.


The designer of this map is an obvious traitor to the motherland and will be shot at first oportunity. Execution will be carried out by the main gun of a KV-II. Instead of Guard on Mamayev Kurgan a useless Krupp gun bunker. Instead of some 45mm guns at Pavlov's house, a lowly partisan squad (no molotovs). ugh.

German units advance all along the front..a few sharp fire-fights sends some Russians deeper into the city or to hell. :mad:

More Barges go down in the Volga and my Arty stars to "walk" across the city.

A GE MC platoon 10 men! strong, gets wasted to the man by a hidden SMG squad, only to be flamb'ed!

Its warm in Stalingrad:cool:

Status: offline 		Hmm I think this is the mistake in the design of the scenario. Th strategy of "Sink all the barges so all reinforcements are stuck on the wrong bank of the Volga" Should not be feasible. You should still be able to sink the things, but there should be a Nuber of barges sufficient to guarantee that the luftwaffe cant sink them all or a critical amount to make reinforcements unfeasable. Also i think some shallow water fords should be made to simulate men swimming across, or at least rafts should be enabled.

Status: offline 		Restart? Not before I kick the stinkin' Kraut eaters from the shore of the Volga. You loose a StuG, Have a Panzer II shot up really bad, and loose a Forward observer AAC and a Normal AC. 3 Close assualts are insuccessful and a hail of molotov's misses so my ambush on Mamaevs Kurgan was a failure. If the stupid guys hit anything you would have ben less some more stuGs:(.


If you need someone to fix the Russian positions in the scenari for play vs someone else I can give it a go though. Though then it would be a good dea to spend 5 turns of arty on Pavlov's house:)

My front line troops are almost spent:( with their Panzers!:mad:

I start the dreaded assault into the deep city..both north and south, knowing there has to be fresh Russian troops there....

I take most of the Airbase and Citypark. This battle is in the center north, a real slug-feast!

Almost all German Arty is re-ploted from the front to a terror campaign at the Russian rear.

This is fun!!:D !!
