Hi folks, I know I've posted about this before but I can't find the previous post. It seems to me that trying to move a unit to a different HQ by clicking on it in the OOB and dragging it up to the new HQ is extremely flaky. For a start a different unit to the one you click on often gets affected (so I have learn't to always save before I attempt this). Also when you have managed to move the unit you intended to, some odd effects can occur.
An example below. I attach the mortar unit to the top level HQ shown six hexes away. The new HQ has a command range of 24 yet the mortar unit shows the text '> 6 hexes from HQ'. From past experience I know that saving the game at this point and reloading can fix the problem. However this time when I reload from the save the mortar unit has returned to its previous HQ. Other players must have had problems in this area? I'm surprised that I have not seen anyone post about this?

It seems I can only upload one image per post so here is the second one taken after the save/reload.
Once again attached to its original HQ which is > 6 hexes away which is why I tried to change HQ.

Hobbes, The post is probably in the Tech Support sub forum to track the bug issue. Also, which game version are you now running?

Oh yep - that's probably it. I'm still on 2.0.10bs. As I'm just about done there didn't seem much point in updating - but will do for a final game or two as the Soviets. Not seen anything about an update for this problem though? Most players must experience this bug when they attempt to assign a new HQ I would have thought?

Cheers,
Chris

Hi hobbes,

I can confirm that this was fixed in one of the beta updates.

Rob.

I noticed this behaviour was occurring in 11.2, I'll keep an eye out in 11.4
