Hi everybody!

Advanced Tactics Gold has been updated to version 2.21s!

Advanced Tactics Gold 2.21s patch notes

- Fixed a strange filename issue when you where setting an alternate master file in the random game setup screen
- Fixed a crash in Ormands scenario with aircraft model
- Fixed a crash in Ormands scenario with Models
- Added the ModelAllowUpgrades button in the editor
- No more crashes when watching history replay with TOE system enabled
- TOE system did not work well with aircraft and could cause mysterious oil losses, fixed! (already fixed in the private v2.21m)
- TOE system got confused with variant resource use = off. fixed!

I have the latest version installed (says: v 221s in the upper left corner) but I do not have the NATO counters option - thought I read that this came with this update, correct?

I actually believe I have never seen this option before. The NATO counters are available via the TOE template button, correct? I take it, the TOE template button is the icon that looks like an organizational chart and can be found in the lower right, correct? [I only know this because I saw it on a Let's Play video.] This button is not present on my screen - in order from left to right (lower right corner), the buttons are: Surrender, History, Strategic Information, Decision Room & End_Turn.

It is probably a setting or something I did, but any assistance would be appreciated.

Hey Kurt,

I've had the same issue when I load up older scenarios. Do you have the same issue if you choose a new random game start as well?

Random games - not that it matters at all, but I do not believe I have ever loaded a scenario - strictly a random game guy so far.

What do you click when you are in the main menu?

  • "A New Dawn Random Game" <- this is the version of the game with all new features from patches: leaders, TOE, tank models.
  • "Standard Random Game" <- this is the ATG without new features.
  • "Alt Gfx. Random Game" <- this is similary as Standard Random Game but with different terrain graphics and without weather options and fields/paddies (I don't know why it exists, maybe for some mods).
  • "Classic Random Game" <- this is the old Advanced Tactics version map generator with the old masterfile as the default option.

    I guess you play as a new player just in "Standard Random Game" because it sounds like an officialy standard game, right? But actually a standard game is "A New Dawn Random Game" LOL.

    I believe it was "A New Dawn Random Game"; could not verify though because something was messed up - I could not create a new random map using any of the options - an error message would pop-up saying (something along the lines of) "you cannot create random maps from this masterfile."

    I performed a re-install and that did the trick! From there, I discovered what Madlok said (basically) "all the good stuff is in: "A New Dawn Random Game." Wish I knew what the issue was or how it became an issue - it is not like my computer is unstable - haven't had an issue... ever. [and I do not believe this is the start of a downward spiral]

    Speaking of what is available from the main menu and what the heck it all means, is there a good, detailed manual available? I take it this is where Madlok got his information from or was it trial-n-error?
