Congratulations warspite1 on making more than 30,000 posts.

I read most of them, and they have enriched my life. Thank you.

yep, can't claim to have read all 30,000 but certainly have enjoyed the ones I have read ... and a few PM based conversations too

Warspite1 how's your Luxury Suite at Matrix Towers? Do you get room service? And whos your secretary that is typing out all your post?

Congrats I 've enjoyed your participation.

I wish we had a room. Then we could get a huge table for it and have the perfect place to play World in Flames. You could join in if you want.

To mark the occasion, I have sold a friend on a WiF purchase. Hopefully, he will become an active PBEM player, unlike me

What a nice surprise to see this thread yesterday.

I must admit I've been so engrossed with the Strategic Command AAR I had no idea the post count had got to 30,000 until I saw this

Thanks for the thread Orm and the nice comments from the usual GD suspects

I am just waiting for the congratulatory telegram from the HM Queen Elizabeth

Now that GD could be interpreted two ways.

30,000 posts in under 9 years...that's more than 9 posts a day. In 20 years you'll hit 100,000!

Well if someone can create a proper, detailed War in the Mediterranean 1940-1943 game, then 100,000 will be reached much quicker than that .

When I do AAR’s I try and make them detailed and that means lots of posts. E.g. even allowing for the fact that other people have posted, I suspect that my current Strategic Command AAR comes to over 20 posts a day as I like to detail (with pictures) what is happening.

Of course the odd AB competitions helped push the total up too

Is is customary to get congratulatory telegrams from ships in your country?

[shakes head and smiles in a patronising way] Oh my dear little colonial. No, if one were refer to a warship one would say:

I am just waiting for the congratulatory telegram from the HMS Queen Elizabeth That is to say Her Majesty's Ship.

However one was referring to Her Majesty - HM.

Shouldn't you have said 'The Queen' instead of Her Majesty? There is only one queen in England.

Not as far as I am aware - but I am not that au fait with royalty and the etiquette around them. All I know is the Queen Elizabeth is a wonderful lady but that Queen Elizabeth is the wrong name for the aircraft carrier. HMS Warspite would have been good though....
