In the game it is smaller than Åbo/Turku, in reality Turku had population around 5000 and Reval/Tallin had around 10.000.

Åbo was an important trade port but its main role was as the administrative center of Finland, it also had an university.

Reval was much more important trade hub and the administrative center of Estonia.

Before Livonia and Riga became part of Sweden the strategic, economic and cultural core of Sweden was the triangle Stockholm-Åbo-Reval, this control of the northern part of the Baltic Sea is what made possible all the future expansions.

Riga and Stockholm had population over 50.000+ by 1700 so they where huge centers in the Baltic Sea region.

Helsingfors/Helsinki and Viborg/Viipuri where around 3000+ in size.

Tammerfors/Tampere did not exist in 1700 as a town, it should be replaced with Tavastehus/Hämeenlinna, you could just change the names.

If these type of things can be edited I am willing to search for accurate information about trade and military infrastructure related to the game from official sources. Swedish Empire kept accurate records of everything so it most likely all published in Sweden or Finland.

It's easy to sort out and be added in the next patch...just name the cities and what population values / levels they should have and it can be fixed easily

You would have to give a reference on how real life values roughly translate in the game, for now I trust you to input the values I posted.

I hope people post their own observations from their parts of the game world.

I would say Riga / Stockholm are your references in number.
Also; for game balance reason (and potential issues), cities must have level 2 minimum

That translated to about five thousand people per settlement level Riga being twelve in the game with a historical population of sixty thousand.

But Paris as an metropol peaks at level twenty and had historically a population over five hundred thousand.

So I am very hesitant to suggest concrete changes when I dont understand the abstraction used.

Is there an upper limit that can be edited?

I believe there was a max limit of 20, but I am not sure we couldn't exceed it and reach higher values...nobody tried it really

Well Paris does deserve it if possible, it was totally in its own class at that time.
