A short summary from my perspective about my and Dmondragon75 ELO tournament game. We are in 1 september 1940. Dmondragon75 surely have things to add to the summary.

Situation at North Sea and the Atlantic:

Dmondragon75 has played well at the sea, he has sunk both of my Battle Cruisers, one destroyer and two subs and also inflicted heavy damage to my other vessels. I did some obvious overaggressive move with my fleet in the North Sea - but Dmondragon75 also had planned his naval activity in this area very well. So the outcome of my stupid overaggressive moves with my surface fleet (when the French navy still was in action!!!) and his well executed sea strategy has cost me a lot.

I tried to open with some early sub attacks at his convoy lanes, but at a high cost. Maybe same here, should have waited until after Fall of France but I wanted to inflict MPP losses early for him. At this moment the cost of doing so has been larger then the benefit.

To summaries the North Sea/Atlantic situation; disaster for me and success for Dmondragon75.

In the Mediterranean Sea the only activity so far has been constant bombardment of Tobruk (city and port) and of the italian landforces in Libya, which helped his ground forces to vipe out one of my Italian HQ.

Fall Gelb (invasion of France and the Benelux):

Some rather stupid mistakes from my side once again made me pay, forgot to have HQ attached to some of my aircraft (I use manual mode - which I will continue with but stop beeing sloppy with'em). I also made a jump behind enemy lines with a Fallschirmsjaeger division/corp/unit...with out any escorting fighters - halfed my division/corp/unit, the one fighter supposed to escort was grounded since earlier and I had not changed its mode. A overaggressive move with one of my panzers the turn before made me lose that after heavy pounding from French armies with prepeared attacks.

After this crappy start I FINALLY recovered, took a deep breath and advanced with more controlled aggressive style and made some significant progress and threatened his B.E.F.-forces and managed to advance and attack his rear echelons with the french HQ:s.

I am not satisfied with the initial offensive, but when I calmed down the offensive went more smooth.

Dmondragon75 still have control of three ports in France, so the fight in France is not yet over, I do not know if he has not been able to evac yet or if it is a planned move. We will see in time I guess. I do think he has not been able to evac, because he used some french corps in august as rear guard for his B.E.F., it could of course depend on that he wanted to buy some time for the entrenchment-bonus of his english army and corp but at the same time that made his defence around Paris weaker. I do not know if it had made any different, but maybe. Because even do viped out the Paris-army I only had one other unit nearby that could advance into the city. Maybe one extra french corp could have delayed the Fall of France with one turn.

North Africa:

In the North Africa theater the situation is interesting, Dmondragon75 managed to vipe out a italian HQ with help of the Royal Navy but at the cost of me pincering his offensive. Now one of his Armies and a Corp is in deep trouble if he do not manage to break out back to his own lines next turn. He tried one break out - which failed. My supply status of my italian Army and Armoured division/corp/unit did not made it possible to totally vipe his army out the first time.

Summary:

I would say that Dmondragon75 have had a really good start. Initially I have to make some sigficant blows to his english army in North Africa to even the game out. I do not feel like I am in a awful situation but it is not good. If I manage with the encirclement in the North Africa theater and I also mange to at least not loose the italian fleet like I lost the german to Dmondragon75 in the North Sea and Atlantic then maybe. If he crushes or cripple my italian fleet he will totally dominate all the important sea areas. That will of course be a significant problem for me in the future.

This is one of my first MP-games, have learned some things but I can not blame "newbie"-status for my initial failures (I have read the manual and played some single player before this), this game is complex but also very logical so my biggest problem so far is that I have been overaggressive and sloppy in certain siuations. Dmondragon75 have also played very well so far and especially at sea.

I will add some pictures after this posting. If I manage to add them!
