I just upgraded to .21 from the "check for update" button and it updated fine. But then in trying open a new game it goes to the saved file folder instead of the in game folders to pick the scenario you want to play. Am I the only one having that problem?

Mine does not do that. Do you mean the game or the editor?

For me the game runs fine. The Editor is a little fiddly with directories and the interface.

Ugh...the editor will make you crazy when you open files. You have to open the scenario in the game before you work on it in the editor so it will go to the appropriate scenario in the editor when attempting to open the scenario you are working on.

In other words, when opening a scenario in the editor it will always go to the last scenario opened in the game. Don't ask me why, makes no sense at all.

Sadly it's not when I open the editor, click on Play and then on New Game. Immediately goes to the save folder.
Could it be that the editor module is stuck as the default?

I have never seen that before.

Oh wait. You need to click on New Game first. That will take you to the scenarios.

Right, what Lobster (did his parents really name him after a crustation, lol, my name is Don btw) said and then you can click the Folder to get to which ever directory you want to play with. You can also (or will have to with .20 and .21 update) create folders in your my docs directory for any overrides/new scenarios/graphics etc.

Lobster...from my military days...artillery. Nothing to do with sea life. That's all I'm saying about that.

When I click on 'New Game' it immediately goes to the file folders, not to the in-game folders as your picture shows above. Since I seem to be the only one having this problem I believe the software has become stuck on Scenario Editor button and is trying to get me to load an editor file even when I click on the New Game button. This all started once I upgrade to .21 from an earlier version (not .20).
I suppose I need to completely uninstall, reload, upgrade to .20 and test it and then upgrade to .21.
I have been playing AoWIV for several years now and have never encountered this problem so I first thought it was a .21 upgrade issue but perhaps my code has become corrupted in some way.

It does sound like something is wrong on your end.

I just purchased TOAW IV about 2 weeks ago, the installer for this purchased version is .20 and then I patched it to .21 and no issues, like your seeing.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled which is .20 and then I upgraded to .21 and now all is fine.
I suspect the problem could be is do not upgrade to .21 from any version except .20.

Instructions for .21 were posted here:
http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4568123

and it says there: You need to apply the patch over 4.1.0.20. If you have not installed that yet, you need to follow the installation instructions in it's THREAD,
