There are quite a few theatres where early declarations of war play a significant role. For example, once either the Axis or Allies have won in Africa they often invade countries like Tunesia, Syria, Algeria and Iraq. Finland can be invaded by the USSR before it joins the Axis. Sweden can be invaded early by the Allies. There are many other options that make sense.

Currently, you really don't know what the effects on mobilisation are going to be until you declare war. If you declare war on a country and it turns out that the USA shifts its mobilisation by 20% after the DOW that will have a catastrophic effect on your game as they might get thousands of additional MPPs as a result. The only ways to know the effects now are by saving and reloading or looking it up in the game files, both are not fun to do.

So I would like to suggest that the: "Are you sure you want to declare war on <country_name>?" screen is extended by showing you the mobilisation effects of the DOW. It could for example say:

This will have the following effects:
The USA will move slightly towards the Allies
Vichy France will move significantly towards the Allies
The Soviet Union will move minorly towards the Allies
This will cause a minor decrease in national morale

I think this would be very helpful in planning your next moves and to warn players about ruining their win chances by accidentally invading the wrong country.

I like it very much, good idea, especially if the details were hidden and only seen if that dialog is expanded [like with an arrow that drops down/expands the menu, so that those that don't want that info won't see it ]

Great idea, especially for players like me who don't read and learn all the scripts

I like the idea, but what is minor? Perhaps a range?
