Apologies for going on about this, but I feel realistic detection abilities/spotting ranges are of vital importance in a game like TBF.

The picture illustrates a preposterous situation I've just witnessed. The Sherman is approaching a spot where I know German infantry are laying in the road. It stops at intervals to give its unflustered crew the maximum chance to spot the enemies yet fails to spot them until they are roughly 12m away. This is beyond silly.

That's clearly a bug. Did you happen to save at the points as you did this experiment? That would really help us to determine how it happened.

Cheers

Pip

No, but this and all the other 1.05 issues I've mentioned are glaringly obvious if you spend any time at all using tanks.

Here's a similarly unlikely spotting situation from my last test (save to follow):

A) I know there's a five-man German team roughly where my cursor is, but my Sherman can't see them however long I leave it stationary and facing the spot. (Note glitched Pz IV in this screenshot)

B) When I move the Sherman 2m forward, instantly the entire enemy team is visible.

C) I reverse to avoid the inevitable AT attack, kill the attacker by running him over (sigh), and the rest of the stationary German team promptly vanish!

Same issue illustrated on another map. A very short move allows a Sherman to see hiding (?) units that should be visible
from much further away.

(Note misaligned gun)

Here's a Sherman failing to spot four prostrate Germans in a situation where even four scared-stiff rabbits would be obvious.
