This should answer your questions on our Digital Download and CD-On Demand methods of ordering.

1. How fast is the Digital Download?

Generally as fast as your connection. It has auto-resume in case the download is interrupted, though you can also use a third party download manager to handle that if you prefer.

2. Can I download my game and also get it on CD? Can I just get it on CD? Can I just download it?

Yes to all. For around $10, you get CD on Demand, which ships a CD out to you as soon as the order is placed. This can take from a week up to three weeks depending on your country (CDs are shipped from the US and Europe). When you place an order, you can choose not to download it and instead just wait for the CD to arrive. Alternately, you can choose to just download your game without receiving the CD.

3. What about orders outside the US?

Try our international stores, which offer alternate currencies, credit cards and shipping from warehouses outside the US.

4. What is this Box on Demand?

Starting in August, we will offer to ship you not just the CD, but the CD in a game box (DVD Case). This service is not yet available, but you can still get the CD using CD on Demand.

Please check the Online Store for any additional questions.

Nope.

Edit: Whoops, misunderstood. Burn the original downloaded file, that's the installer.

Not likely. They still have some "anomolies" on the Store page (US store) for the game. Says War In The Pacific, but the thumbnail screen shots are from another game. And stuff at the bottom of the page is also from another game. I didn't go any further than that....

Will the August boxed version come with anything else (players guide, map, manual, etc.), or just the CD with a cool looking label?

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm?

If so, why? UV came with that stuff (excluding a printed map).

Normally from me ...possible. This time however I really am trying to justify
why I or anyone would bother waiting till August for a DVD box and great looking cover as your prize for waiting??? No offense Matrix/2x3 but I can just put the downloaded file on a CDRW and put that inside the UV DVD box. The UV cd can
find a nice sleave to live out the remainder of its days.

I just ordered and chose the CD on command option, I'm not going to download - due to being dial-up and some Internet problems I've been having. The system never asked me for a shipment address, does that mean it automatically ships to the billing address? Totally fine that's where I would've wanted it to go, just making sure there isn't a problem.

A stupid questions I know but..........

I plan to order just a CD so:

Do I still put a quantity of 1 in the Digital Download option or do I reduce that quantity to 0 and just put a 1 in the CD on Demand bit?

Speedy,

You still need to buy the digital download, since that is the game proper. The CD on demand cost covers shipping you a copy on CD anywhere in the world.

Regards,

- Erik

It is the CD in a sleeve, packed carefully to survive shipping without a problem. If you order from the Euro store, it is shipped from Europe, from the US it's shipped from the US, etc. A box-on demand option will be available starting in August.

Regards,

- Erik

Greetings Matrix Staff and all the rest,

Do I need to do the DD on the sysytem that I will install the game on? Or can I DD on one system burn the installer to CD and then install the game on another system. I ask for the following reason, at work I am on a dedicated T1 line while at home I have DSL. The T1 will allow a much faster DD and I could then burn the file and install it at home. Do you see or is there any problems/issues with doing it this way? Thaks for all the hard work and for developing a game that guys like us will enjoy for years and years!

Cheers

That’s my whole freaking point!!!

I’ve been asking this question in different threads and no one from Matrix has directly answered my question about printed materials with the boxed version.

IF the boxed version comes with printed material as UV did, I will hold off. If not, I’ll buy it now.

Why is this concept seem foreign to everyone?

Slick,

Sorry, I haven't been trying to avoid this, must have either missed it or misunderstood it last night. The current plan is that the box will just be a nice DVD case with the WitP cover, etc. No printed materials inside as far as I know. It just provides a better way to store it for those who like boxes.

Regards,

- Erik

We have stated various times that all print items for WITP will be on the CD as PDFs. Even with the boxed version.

Thanks!!! Now I know what to do.

I’m sure that my posts were innocently overlooked given the amount of traffic in the WitP thread.

I knew all the PDF’s would be on the CD, but that wasn’t what I was talking about. I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to miss out by not getting the boxed version.

Due to my work schedule, I’ll be lucky to get one or two hours in this whole month. That’s why I can wait until August if need be.
