I downloaded some great soundtracks in wav/mp3 form..How do I convert them to play in the background of WITP?..I tried to just "re-name",it does not work..
BTW,the Microsoft player DOES play the WITP sounds, but it does not tell me what format they are currently!..Thank you..

Renaming works for me. Just rename the *.wav *.mp3 to *.spx(whatever it is in /SOUND).
Works like a charm. Where did you download? What did you download. Are you going to send it to spookys?

The current post 1.0 sounds are Windows Media Audio format at 44kHz. The original files were mp3's with mixed density.

I have sent Cobra approx 6-10 files this past week-end and he has some of them converted and posted on Spooky's site right now!!!.IMHO they sound great as replacement sounds..Cobra is a busy man with all the great mods he is doing,I'm glad he made time to convert those files!..

Is Windows Media Audio format the default format for 1.3 and or 1.4?
Is the code smart enough to use either(*.wma || *.wav *mp3)?

To get them to play for the game,Cobra had to convert them to 8 bit..Works fine..Go to Spooky's site, look for "Cobra's VAS SFX"..
