Well thankfully Eric responded in another thread so we now know the game is still in the works...that's good enough for me at the moment...

Not only still in the works, but also schedule for later this year. With his necessarily broad comments about some rework being required and Frank's obvious commitment to other projects, I thought it was a fairly thorough update - at least as detailed as we might realistically be able to expect.

Was he talking about EIA or Guns of August? They have been saying that in the EIA forum too

Well, maybe because I work in software I read that notice a bit differently.

-- Matrix rejected the game Frank had submitted. They had suggestions for changes to the game.
-- Because of this, the game's status moved backwards from "development complete" to "final development".
-- Meanwhile, the main programmer is working on "other projects". And there's no word on how long that might last. And thus no word on when he might be available to make the changes requested.

I've got a project like that in my day job, and I have no idea when we might work on it again. At least where I work, when I project gets that lower priority, even when the "other projects" are done, even more other projects have a way of jumping ahead of the one that was postponed.

To me, that all adds up to putting this game back into the nearly-vaporware category. It sounds like we should see it someday, but no clue as to when that someday will be as this is a low priority compared to "other projects".

And when no one can find even five minutes to occaisionally post a status notice in a forum, that just reinforces what a low priority a project really has.

Too bad, as to me this is a rather unique title that's covering a topic that not many other games cover. It may even be worth the ridiculous prices Matrix charges because of that. Oh well.

(another software developer here)

sound comments from marc420, the $64000 question is how much of a re-visit does the game need. it is just a few tweaks or major alterations / improvements.

the silence from Frank is deafening...

Ok, I know this is hopeless...but if "a re-visit" = major alterations, can we maybe have a smaller scale?
Say maybe at least Divisions instead of Corps?

Ok I'll shut up now..

Not all Matrix games have a high price point and I doubt GoA will be one of those which does....I envision it will cost somewhere between Campaigns on the Danube and World at War, but certainly no where near War in the Pacific prices....
