PureSim Gold 1.1 has full support for being modded by .NET 2.0 / Visual Studio 2005 developers. Would it be useful for me to write a tutorial? Do any of you have any programming experience?

Also note Microsoft has just released a fully functional FREE version of VB 2005 called the VB.NET 2005 Express Edition. I just tried writing a PureSim add-in and it worked great. I suggest you grab a copy:

Here is the download page at Microsoft

The only tradeoff with the free express edition is you can't step through your code while it is being executed by PureSim so its a little tougher to debug.

Anyway besides addins PureSim actually supports modding the core game as well (For example, the Schedule Calendar feature is actually a mod!) That is a bit more involved of a process, but if there are aspiring modders I can look into explaining how that works as well.

There probably is not too much interest out there but I figured I'd post this just to check. I'll continue to use the extensibility / modding support in the future to do more expansion packs...

Sounds like a possibility.

I'd like to see a tutorial. I know you use the SDK database. I checked out Microsoft's the tutorials on VB 2005 and didn't seem all that hard. If I could learn to do add-ins -- I think that might really get me excited again.

BTW, my "Sienna Skin" for version 1.1 is finished.

I'll be looking into doing some add-ins. I've been looking for some coding projects to play around with, and PureSim add-ins sound like a great way to do that.

I think I could do it without any problems if I just had an "example" to follow. I've changed quite a bit of some of PS's html screens.

Excellent idea Shaun, I assume you include c# as well. Now if only some of the other Matrix titles would such farsightedness.

I'd be very interested in an explanation of how to do this.

I'm still eager to see an example -- so I can learn how to do it.
