First of all - I love this game (UV)!
I need some info. I've been plaing "Hard Road Ahead" and I have the folling airfields:
Port Moresby - size 9
Dobadura - size 7 building to 9
Munda - size 4
Vila - size 1 building to 4
Buna - size 2 building to 4
Lunga - size 9
Tulagi - size 2
I have heavy bombers at PM - 56 B17s and 24 B24s
I have skip bombers at Dobadura - B25s, A20s, Hudsons
I have SBDs at Munda - about 70
I have B26s at Lunga - about 90
Things are going well, in fact my Munda SBDs caught and sank Zuiho & Ryujo.
My skip bombers have made life really hard for any shipping ing the Bismark or Solomon Seas.
My question: How do I neutralize Shortland airbase? How many bombers do I need?
I 've hit it with my B17s, B24s & B26s at 15,000 feet then at 11,000 feet and I do very little damage. Nothing that keeps the Japs from flying. I seem to have better luck with Rabaul. I hit it with 56 B17s and 12 B24s and I got 122 runway hits - usually I get at lease 50 to 65. Not so with Shortland.
Do I need to move my B17s to Lunga so they have a shorter distance to fly?
Also what's the best altitude for heave bombing?
Suggestions please!
