I have noticed in the game that catchers don't seem to get tired and require days off like they do in real life. After having my catcher start 10 games in a row, he is still "feeling great". I'm sure this can probably be fixed by tinkering with the xml file, but it should be built into the default xml file.

That being said, if someone has a suggestion on how to fix this in the xml, I would appreciate the help.

My catchers get tired and need days off. In the early part of the season there seems to be a lot of off days which give your players time to rest up in between series.

Mine do too. I had to rest my catcher today on game 9 of the season. He was the first to actually tire on my team. There were two days off in there too.
