I can't seem to keep full control over my arty/air strikes. The bombard screen tells me what unit is my current spotter. I am able to select bombard targets inside that spotters field of view. I understand there are many reasons that the arty shells scatter over an area but why do my aircraft often strike targets that I didn't designate? They will then fly over the actual target without firing a single bullet. I have also attempted to position the spotter at a more strategic location only to find that the unit is no longer the spotter the next time I go to plan a bombardment. How do I specify what unit I want as the spotter?

tdtuck, the main reason(s) an aircraft doesn't attack the designated hex are that the aircraft does not see the hex due to smoke, woods or hill and thus it may miss, either totally doing just a flyby or it attacks a couple hexes off target. also it may select a 'better' target (in it's opinion, not usually yours)

When choosing the spotter select it first on the main screen, then go to bombard screen and select strikes. If you want to change the spotter go back to main screen, select a new unit and go back to bombard screen. Basically your spotter is the unit you had selected when you go to bombard screen. Voriax
