OK fixed the game and ready to restart. Will keep original story just change game events.

Had to make some last minute changes due to playtesting. Suicide attack groups were weak so added the "Al Malik" a Egyptian Smoke morter truck to simulate suicide bombs. It has an good anti personel attack.

So here again is story.

August 23 2006. Meeting in Baghdad.

New leader of Al Queda in Iraq Al-Masri with messenger from AL Zawahiri in Afganistan

"Blessings and peace upon those who carry the swords and the burdens of Islam in the name of the Righteous in the name of Mohammid PBUH"

"To the new Caliph of Iraq I give thanks for the struggle but since the death of Zarqawi in June the Cross Worshippers have been increasing the war on Islam. We need actions now or there will be no Future"

AL Zawahiri sends this plan for all the forces of Islam in Iraq. A new day is to dawn. We now seek a turn in the war.

The plan will set out enemies both Muslim and Infidel against each other. We will have them at each others throats and that will lead us to Victory in the name of the Prophet PBUH.

The time to strike is now. But our target must be one of significance to change the war into our favor.

This message reveils your new Target......

January 23 2007 US Command Greenzone in Baghdad.

US Command in Iraq Multi National forces. Press Breifing

General George Casey

"In the past 8 months of action we have seen a gradual reduction in the attacks in IRaq. Al Queda is decimated and on the retreat. The iraqis Sunnis seem more willing to deal with the new Government. And Sectarian Violence is on the decline"

Reporter " General do you see any chance of Al Queda making a serious Come back in Iraq ?"

General Casey "In answer to your question there is always a chance that Al Queda will launch attacks. They were able to attack mainland US remember ? Iraq is still a target to them and there are signs that they wish to continue the Struggle here"

Reporter " What do you think Al Queda plans next ?"

General Casey "Difficult to say. They clearly are not winning the war militarily they only chance for victory is to widen the war. It will take something on the scale of 911 to dramatically change the fortunes of AL Queda in Iraq. They are still however capible of a lot of Mischeif. "

AL Queda Sucide Squad prepares for attack.

Al Jaffari "Is he inside ?"

Al Hisseini "Yes, Even now he rants against the Americans"

Al Jaffari "Then his death will fullfill his dreams. He will unite all muslims behind us"

Al Hisseni "It is Allah's Will"

Al Jaffari "May Allah Bless us and our Mission !"

All Al QUeda attackers begin to chant "Allah Ackbar !"
---------------------------------------
Inside Mosque Fallujah Iraq

Radical Shiia Cleric Al Sadr

"We are here now that the site of many American Crimes against the Iraqi people ! It is here in Fallujah that many brave Muhajadeen died to defeat the Americans. Let it be here that we unite to drive them from our lands !"

Crowd begins cheering but is breify drowned out by scattered gunfire

Al Sadr at the top of his voice "See even now the violence continues ! We must continue attacking the Americans to drive them from our lands to gain peace !"

Shots ring out near the mosque A wounded Iraqi staggers in...

Al Sadr "The Americans they are attacking us in our holy places ! This is sacriledge ! They have insulted Islam !'

He is drowned out by chants of

"Allah Ackbar !" from the crowd.

They are greeted by the same chant from the incoming Al Queda suicide squad who starts to spray the crowd with bullets.

Word tonight of an attack on a mosque in Fallujah. There are reports of many casualties and rumors of a US attack on a Mosque there.

US Greenzone Iraq. Military press Breifing

General George Casey

"We have investigated the Camoflauge that was taken off the dead in fallujah. It matches uniforms stolen from an Iraqi army base last year. There is no evidence of US involvment in the attack on the Mosque"

Reporter "Then why General are Shiia Clerics and the Iranian leaderhip calling for attacks on the US and its allies for the deathof Al Sadr ?"

General Casey "We believe that the attack was instigated by Al Queda and carried out by them. All of the attackers are Middle Eastern and clearly not US Marines. But we see some using this as anti US propaganda.

Reporter "What about calls in Iran for the US to immediately withdrawl or face Iranian "Justice" ?

General Casey "We have seen a rise in attacks in Iraq in receint days. It clearly is being used as a propaganda tool. As for Iran we have prepared our defenses and will watch the border closely. We have seen evidence of Insurgents getting more aid from the IRanian border.

Office of the President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

Talking to the Iranian Parliment

"The hour of Iran has come. We have prepared for this day. America's role in the attack on Al Sadr shows the world that America can not be trusted."

"Already our plans go forward. We have anaged to get aid to our Shiia brethern in Iraq. We have also formed an alliance with AL Queda in the hopes of driving the great Satan out of Iraq."

"But our first major overt strike will be against the Zionist entity. That will be in a few months as we are close to acheiving our goal of acquiring "Special" weapons to prevent any attack on our homeland."

"Until then we will aid the Muhajadeen. We also have convinced some Muslim naitons to aid us. We now have Spare parts for some of the American equiptment left over from the time of the Shah. And we have purchased alot of Russian Equiptment."

"For now the battle will be taken to the Americans by the Insurgensts of Iraq. And we will aid them".

Iraq

News reporter "The situation in Iraq has again broken into all out warfare. The Insurgency that was nearly defeated has been revived by the aid that Iran seems to be giving the Insurgencts. But While attacks have increases the Pentagon is perplexed as to why there has been no major escalation of warfare with the Insurgents. Attacks have been sporatic and there are signs that the Insurgents are better armed. Yet they have made little effort to leave their controlled areas. "

"The Military continues to monitor the situation and wonder what their next move is"

Hi,

I notice that you have some graphical anomaly running vertically through your control panel and micromap. How, and when, is that occurring?

Thanks. It is probably being caused by taking the screenshots, or alt-tabbing, when there is action going on. It's best to wait until things are not in motion, whenever possible, to do this.

Hmm Well it isnt that big a deal other than it doesnt look nice.

But try keeping tabs on 40 to 60 attacks and then going back and taking Screenshots.

doing it with the game in motion is only way I know to get the action as it happens rather than trying to reconstruct what happened.

But did notice other problems with the interface while I was running the snapshot taker. I think the problem is I have to assign a key to take the snapshot and that conflicts with the controls of the game as I might have multiple assignments of the same keystroke

The worst defeat for the coalition in this sector took place at Basra.

Here members of the Basra Militia were betrayed by an insurgent posing as a member of the militia. We discovered this after he was captured by the New Zealanders.

the Militia Battalion was assigned to assit the New Zealand TF Rake (a group of Engineers) to guard a bridge over the Euphrates.

The New Zealanders were entrenched ner the Bridge and the Militia was patrolling around it.

This insurgent named Habib used his positon to plot strike points for the insurgency. He marked off areas to make bombardment strikes. He then passed this info along to an Iranian Artillery officer who used the info to plot an artillery strike.

Then Habib was able to smuggle several insurgents into a compound near the militia barracks.

The first strike was a barrage of Scud missiles from Iran.

Over 75 scuds fell on the Bridge position over the next hour.

Suring the bombardment the Insurgents lauched their attack. they quickly overran the Iranian militia Company capturing or killing all Iraq Militia battalion.

They then launched a coordinated assault on the New Zealander positons.

The New Zealanders had lost 1 bull dozer and 1 Scout car in the Scud bombardment. They fought hard but had to retreat using their Scout cars and Bull dozers for cover.

In the end 2 New Zealanders were killed in the retreat. Another 16 were wounded. They also lost antoher scout car and a light armored truck in the retreat.

An esitmated 18 terrorists were killed in this engagement

The biggest attack of the Iranian Army came against a US Cavalry detachment near the border.

A Troop of the 1st Battalion 278th Cav defended. Capt Jim Walker had his team beployed behing revetments guarding the main road into The nearby town.

Word had come in from command that Iranian forces including tanks were attacking down the road into town. Capt Walker had 9 M1A2s and 13 M2 Bradleys with a full company of troops and was expecting air support.

The first attack agianst his postions came from the air. Iranian bombers swooped into bomb his positons. An estimated 30 SU 24s and 7 Su 25s supported by 60 fighters dove to bomb his postions.

38 F - 18s from the US Carrier groups rose to batttle them. In the quick first dog Fight 1 F - 18 was shot down and another damaged. But they and the ground AAA fire took their toll. 1 J 7 and 1 MiG 29 and 1 F 4 were shot down in dogfights. Another MiG 29 limped home damaged. 5 Su 24s and 1 Su 25 were also shot down.

But the bombers also did there damage. 1 M2 Bradley was on fire hit by a bomb and one of his M1A2s was smoking from a near hit but was still able to fight. Several of his troopers were also hurt and killed in the bombardment.

Then the enemy column was spotted. It was the 1st and 2nd Companies of the 32nd revolutionary guard Divison. The enemy opened up with MRL fire from its divisional batteries.

Rockets slam into the US defenses. But there was alittle damage from the missiles as the troops were well dug in.

The the enemy started their attack. M60 Tanks left over from the days of the Shah led the way.

"All Tanks commence fire !" Yelled Capt Walker as the battle raged.

The US tank fire was desistating with its first volley. 3 Tanks were taken out with direct hits and another 2 took hits that stopped or slowed them.

Capt Walker had counted a total of a dozen tanks in this front wave. Nearly half that force had been taken out in that first volley.

But then Walker noticed another column of 10 tanks and supporting infantry coming in from the right flak. That is where he had postioned 2 tanks and a bradly was well as some Dragon ATG teams.

Sgt Bill Clark sat perched on a hill overlooking this area. He sat with his Dragon set up to fire. Below him was a M1 and a M2 Bradley already enganging the incoming enemy. Sgt Clark ordered up suporting infantry to back the tanks then took aim with his dragon ATG>

Incoming fire from the Iranians slammed into the US troops. The M2 Bradley below Sgt Clark burst into flames.

But the return fire was even more effective. The Dragon ATG Teams and supporting M1s were able to hit and disable all 10 attacking tanks in a matter of 6 minutes. This flaking manuever had ended in failure.

Capt Walker ordered his troops to hammer the Iranians who were now in full Retreat. Enemy fire continued to hit this positon but the deadly accurate fire of the US Tanks claimed every enemy tank that had taken part in this first wave.

It was clear the enemy had been defeated in this first attempt.

The cost was high for both siides. The Iranains had lost all 22 of their M60 Tanks they had used in the attack including the Command Tank with the Iranian Colonel who led the attack. 6 BMP1s and 6 M113s were also lost in the attack. The Iraqi infantry hardly closed with the positon and only took 12 casualties.

However the effects of the air bombardment and Missile attack and armed assault had weaked the US Cavarly troops also. 1 M1 A2 was out of action. 4 M2 Bradleys were listed as non operational. 12 US troopers had died and all the other 24 troopers of his infantry squad had taken some kind of wound. Capt Walkers entire infantry support was weaked by this first attack.

Captain Walker raidioed higher command to ask for reinforcements but non were expected soon. He also requested a silver star for Sgt Clark and his gallant stand on the Right flak.

These are complete losses of troops too badly wounded or Killed and equiptment that is considered a total loss.

Broken down into groups

US Air Force
3 F 16s

US Navy
4 F 18s and 2 F 14 Tomcats

US Ground Troops and MPs
15 dead and 85 Wounded. 3 Dead Civilian Workers and 18 Wounded
1 M1A2, 3 M2 Bradleys, 5 M3 Bradleys, 1 M113, and 11 Hummers

Multinational troops
5 Dead and 25 Wounded
1 Bulldozer , 1 light Armored Truck, 1 BRDM 2 scout, 2 Medium scout cars,

Iraqi Army
15 dead and 10 wounded
3 Trucks

Iraqi Police
45 Dead and 87 Wounded or missing
were able to replace all but 3 Iraqi Police cars

--------------------------
The Coalitions strategy in this next phase is to hit key areas that are vulnerable to the insurgents. We will have no go areas to keep casaulties down. But exposed areas will be hit.

Also we hope to rush Armored and infantry units to intercept the incoming Iranian army. These troops will bypass insurgent strongholds to reinforce the multinational troops.

The plan is to isolate the insurgents and hammer the iranians. We plan a containment policy for the insurgents to limit their damage and hope to shatter the incoming Iranian attack as our way to victory.
